All six are upstairs, across three buildings, sharing a single courtyard. Each is named after its building — Petra, Lygia, Apothiki — and its orientation. None has a clock, a television, a kettle or a minibar.

Made nearby

The linen, the weaving and the reading lamps are all made within fifteen kilometres of the house. The blankets come off a loom in Apollonia. The lamps were rewired by an electrician in Artemonas who complained about it for a year and now asks after them.

What the rooms do not have is deliberate. The kitchen is downstairs and Stamatia opens the oven at six.
